Day 1 – Arrival in San Antonio & Fredericksburg - Welcome Dinner

Your journey begins as we fly from Omaha to San Antonio, where the warm spirit of Texas hospitality greets us. From there, we’ll drive into the heart of the Hill Country, arriving in Fredericksburg to check into the stylish Albert Hotel, a thoughtfully designed retreat blending historic charm with modern luxury. Settle into your spacious room or enjoy the hotel’s serene courtyards and lounges before we gather for a welcome dinner at Otto’s German Bistro. This intimate restaurant, known for its seasonal menus and Hill Country–German fusion, is the perfect introduction to the culinary richness of the region. Overnight in Fredericksburg. (D)

Day 2 – Wildflowers, Vineyards & Fredericksburg Charm

After a relaxed breakfast at the hotel, we set out on a scenic drive along the Willow City Loop, one of Texas’s most famous wildflower routes. In April, the hillsides are often carpeted with bluebonnets, Indian paintbrush, and Mexican hats, creating a vibrant natural mosaic. We’ll stop at Wildseed Farms, the nation’s largest working wildflower farm, for a guided visit and included lunch. This afternoon, indulge in a private tour and tasting at Becker Vineyards, where fields of lavender and award-winning wines capture the essence of Hill Country elegance. Return to Fredericksburg with time to shop the boutiques or simply enjoy a glass of wine in the Albert Hotel’s courtyard. Dinner is on your own this evening, offering the chance to explore Fredericksburg’s many acclaimed restaurants. Overnight in Fredericksburg. (B, L)

Day 3 – Cooking Class & Leisure

Today invites you to savor the flavors of Hill Country through an engaging cooking class, where you’ll prepare regional specialties with guidance from local chefs. Lunch is included, giving you a chance to taste your creations paired with regional ingredients. The afternoon is yours to relax — perhaps unwind at the Albert Hotel’s pool, retreat to its quiet garden spaces, or stroll through downtown Fredericksburg’s galleries and shops at your own pace. Dinner is on your own, leaving you free to try one of the many cozy wine bars or farm-to-table restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. Overnight in Fredericksburg. (B, L)

Day 4 – Enchanted Rock, Vineyards & The Preserve

After breakfast, we set out for Enchanted Rock State Natural Area, where a gentle guided hike rewards us with breathtaking panoramic views of the Hill Country. The massive pink granite dome has inspired local legends and offers a spectacular setting to connect with nature. Later, we’ll enjoy a tasting at Heath Family Vineyard, renowned for its Modern estate and award-winning sparkling wine. Lunch follows at Altstadt Brewery, a German-style brewery and restaurant blending tradition with Texas flair. In the afternoon, we continue to The Preserve, where a remarkable elephant experience awaits — a chance to learn about and observe these gentle giants up close in a responsible sanctuary environment. This evening, we gather for a festive farewell dinner, raising a glass to new friendships and memories made in the heart of Texas. (B, L, D)

Day 5 – Journey Home

Enjoy a final breakfast at the Albert Hotel before we return to San Antonio for flights home. As we depart, the rolling vineyards, wildflower-strewn hills, and welcoming charm of the Hill Country remain with us, a reminder of days well spent in this remarkable corner of Texas. (B)
