Tour Itinerary

Day 1 – Welcome to Colorado!

Your Colorado adventure begins as we depart St. Louis on our flight to the Mile High City. Upon arrival in Denver, we'll transfer via private transportation to our beautiful hotel in Colorado Springs, where you'll settle in for a relaxing four-night stay in the heart of the Rocky Mountain region. Take some time to unwind, breathe in the crisp mountain air, and prepare for the unforgettable experiences ahead. This evening, gather with your fellow travelers for a warm and lively Welcome Dinner, the perfect opportunity to get acquainted, share in the excitement of the days to come, and toast the beginning of an incredible journey filled with spectacular mountain scenery, historic railroads, and unforgettable Colorado adventures. (D)

Day 2 – Pikes Peak, Mountain Charm & Natural Wonder

All aboard the beautifully restored Manitou Cog Railway for a scenic ride to the summit of Pikes Peak, where sweeping mountain views will take your breath away. After descending, enjoy lunch on your own in Manitou Springs—a quaint mountain town known for its unique shops, artisan cafés, and laid-back vibe. In the afternoon, immerse yourself in the dramatic red rock beauty of Garden of the Gods. Visit the interactive museum, then choose a guided park tour or set off on a light hike to explore the stunning formations at your own pace. It’s a day of wonder, from mountain peaks to ancient stone paths. (B, D)

Day 3 – Twin Railways & Mountain Majesty

This morning, board the Leadville Colorado & Southern Railroad for a breathtaking ride through the San Isabel National Forest, climbing over 1,000 feet with spectacular alpine views on this 2.5-hour journey. Afterward, enjoy lunch and free time to explore the historic charm of Leadville, once a booming mining town. In the afternoon, step aboard the famous Georgetown Loop Railroad, a narrow-gauge railway rich with Gold Rush history and dramatic mountain scenery. With its looping track and old-world charm, it’s an experience that captures the spirit of Colorado’s railroading past. (B)

Day 4 – Royal Gorge by Rail or Jeep Tour

Today offers two unforgettable ways to experience the dramatic beauty of Royal Gorge Canyon. For a relaxed journey, step aboard the restored Royal Gorge Route Railroad, riding in Club Class comfort along the canyon floor. One of the highlights? A stop at the Hanging Bridge, suspended at the narrowest point of the gorge, a breathtaking sight. Feeling adventurous? You can opt instead for an exhilarating Jeep tour surrounded by rugged canyon walls. After the day’s adventures, both groups reunite for lunch and share stories of their experiences. This evening, gather one last time for a joyful farewell dinner, savoring good food, mountain air, and the memories you've made. (B, D)

Day 5 – Homeward Bound

Enjoy breakfast before heading back to Denver airport for your flight home to St. Louis. Reflect on the incredible scenery and reflect on a week filled with mountain magic and unforgettable rail adventures. (B)

Did you know?

- The Pikes Peak Cog Railway is the world's highest and longest cog railroad, carrying guests more than 14,000 feet above sea level to the summit of America's Mountain.

- Colorado's mountain railroads don't just provide spectacular scenery, they follow the same routes that helped build the American West, connecting remote mining towns and opening the Rockies to settlers and visitors over 140 years ago.
