Day 1 – Arrival in Palm Springs “The Oasis in the Desert”

After our morning flights to California, we arrive in stunning Palm Springs! With its iconic mid-nineteenth-century modern architecture, Palm Springs looks like an old postcard has come to life. Every building is a snapshot of a bygone era, where style and simplicity converge in a way that feels timeless. Enjoy strolling along Palm Canyon Drive at the center of Palm Springs. This iconic palm-lined street is lined with boutique shops and cozy cafes, with the scent of fresh coffee mingling with the earthy smell of the desert flowers. Stop to admire the art galleries and locally-owned shops, all unique and carefully curated. We will check into our accommodations (for four nights) and enjoy a welcome dinner at a local favorite. Day 2 – Mid-Century Architecture and Hollywood’s Golden Age

Decades ago, modernist architects discovered this Southern California oasis of inspiration in this sun-kissed destination, and their groundbreaking achievements in design can still be seen and appreciated today. We will have a guided tour of Palm Springs iconic “mod” architecture in the morning. After lunch, settle in for our “celebrity tour”. Palm Springs would become the “home of the stars” in Hollywood’s golden age. Palm Springs provided sun-drenched clear skies, warm weather, and uncrowded environs. It would become home to more stars than Beverly Hills, including Elvis’ Honeymoon Hideaway, Frank Sinatra’s Twin Palms Estate (known for its piano-shaped swimming pool) and, of course, Palm Springs’ sweetheart - Dinah Shore. This evening is quintessential as we ride the breathtaking Palm Springs Aerial Tramway as it ascends over two and a half miles along the cliffs of Chino Canyon, offering spectacular panoramic views of the desert below. After taking in the stunning scenery and cooler mountain air, enjoy a memorable dinner at the mountaintop with unforgettable views. (B, D)

Day 3 – Exploring Joshua Tree National Park and Moorten Cactus Garden

Joshua Tree National Park is a striking desert park in Southern California where the Mojave and Colorado deserts meet, creating dramatic landscapes filled with twisted Joshua trees, giant boulder formations, cactus gardens, and wide-open desert vistas. We begin our exploration from downtown Joshua Tree at the new Joshua Tree National Park Visitors Center prior to entering the western side of the park for our scenic loop drive. We will also enjoy a picnic box lunch while enjoying the surreal scenery surrounding us. Returning to Palm Springs, a stop at the beautiful Moorten Botanical Garden is a must - showcasing one of the world’s most diverse collections of desert plants, cacti, and succulents. Founded in 1938 by Patricia and Chester “Cactus Slim” Moorten, this family-owned garden offers a peaceful stroll through beautifully curated desert landscapes, featuring rare plants from around the globe. Day 4 – Date Trees, Relaxing and VillageFest

Start the morning at Shields Date Garden, Palm Springs' beloved landmark known for its lush date palm gardens, gourmet date shakes, and rich history dating back to 1924. First, we will learn about date cultivation through the famous “Romance & Sex Life of the Date” short film, then stroll through beautifully landscaped grounds and browse a large market filled with fresh dates, gifts, and local specialties. It’s a relaxing and flavorful stop that blends desert beauty, agriculture, and classic Palm Springs charm. A fun lunch stop at Sherman’s Deli and Bakery is a must-visit while in town! Operating since 1953, this iconic, family-owned Jewish-style deli is renowned for massive sandwiches, matzo ball soup, and desserts. Spend your afternoon relaxing by the pool or sipping a glass of wine or coffee on Palm Canyon Drive (in style). This evening, enjoy the Palm Springs ‘VillageFest’ popular open-air street fair. Hundreds of vendor booths selling local art, handmade jewelry, crafts, clothing, fresh produce, snacks, and desserts, along with street performers and live music. (B)

Day 5 – Farewell to Palm Springs

Enjoy breakfast before your transfer to the airport. The magic of Palm Springs isn’t just in the sights, but in the feeling it leaves behind. There’s something about the vastness of the desert that gives you room to breathe, to reflect, and to simply be.
