You’ll Love This Tour If...you’ve ever dreamed of stepping into the spirit of the American West without sacrificing comfort or connection. From the thunder of hooves at the Buffalo Roundup to the gentle beauty of Falls Park and the artistry of Mount Rushmore, this tour brings together history, natural beauty, and cultural moments. Day 1 - Palmer’s Candy and Welcome Dinner
Your adventure begins as we head north toward Sioux City! Our first stop is Palmer’s Old Tyme Candy, where you can browse sweet treats, nostalgic favorites, and plenty of goodies to take home. Afterward, enjoy lunch and a little time in Sioux City before continuing north to Sioux Falls. Settle into your hotel, then gather with your fellow travelers for a fabulous Welcome Dinner—the perfect chance to get acquainted, share some laughs, and toast to the adventure ahead! (D).
Day 2 - Dignity Sculpture, Keystone, & Mt. Rushmore
After breakfast, we’re off to one of South Dakota’s most beautiful landmarks—the Dignity sculpture overlooking the Missouri River. Take in the sweeping views and admire this striking tribute to the cultures of the Lakota and Dakota people before continuing west into the Black Hills. Enjoy time in the charming town of Keystone for lunch on your own, shopping, and exploring before heading to iconic Mount Rushmore. Here, we’ll meet up with our Nebraska travelers and enjoy time together at this incredible American landmark. Tonight, dinner is included at Mount Rushmore before we settle in for the evening. (B, D)
Day 3 – Buffalo Roundup & Cowboy Dinner Show
This morning, witness an unforgettable Wild West spectacle as cowboys and cowgirls drive a herd of more than 1,300 buffalo across the open prairie. From your hillside viewing area, you'll feel the ground rumble and hear the thunder of hooves as these magnificent animals charge past against the stunning backdrop of the Black Hills. After the roundup, gather with your fellow travelers for a festive dinner and an entertaining cowboy show celebrating the spirit, history, and traditions of the American West. It's a day you're sure to remember for years to come. (B, D)
Day 4 - Crazy Horse, 1880 Train, & the Badlands
There’s plenty more of the Black Hills to discover today! Begin with a visit to the incredible Crazy Horse Memorial, where you’ll enjoy a tour and learn more about the history, artistry, and vision behind this massive mountain carving. Then, climb aboard the historic 1880 Train for a memorable ride through the beautiful Black Hills. Afterward, enjoy lunch around Rapid City before trading the forested hills for the dramatic landscape of Badlands National Park. Sit back and take in the rugged buttes, colorful spires, sweeping prairie, and incredible scenery as we drive through this otherworldly landscape. Tonight, gather for a special Farewell Dinner around Interior before continuing to Sioux Falls for our final overnight. (B, D)
Day 5 - Trinity Heights & Homeward Bound
Enjoy one final breakfast together before beginning our journey home. Along the way, we’ll stop at Trinity Heights, a peaceful 16-acre setting featuring more than two dozen shrines, memorial gardens, and quiet spaces for reflection. Take some time to stroll the grounds and enjoy this beautiful final stop before continuing home. You’ll return with wonderful memories of the Black Hills, the thunder of the Buffalo Roundup, and a South Dakota adventure shared with new friends. (B)
